Sendai is located on the East coast
of Japan about 360 km to the North of Tokyo. It takes 96 minutes to get
from Tokyo to Sendai on the fastest "Bullet train" or "Shinkansen". It
is also possible to fly from Tokyo Narita Airport to Sendai International
Airport. If taking the train from Tokyo Narita Airport there are two rapid
train services to arrive at either Ueno Station or Tokyo Station, from
where you can accesss the Shinkansen rail track.
It is also possible to drive from Tokyo using the Tohoku Expressway. It takes around 3-4 hours .......... But be aware that the speed limit in Japan is 80 km/h on the expressway despite what you may observe in practice. In general driving is quite easy in Japan and road signs are bi-lingual.
